Locker bookings connected to payments and access
ACW developed a web platform connecting reservations, payment status and locker control, with administration and logging for day-to-day operations.
Balearic Lockers provides a digital entry point for customers booking storage. A customer can start at a locker station, while the operator needs to coordinate reservations and access across locations. The journey connects a web transaction with an action in the physical world.
The platform had to connect booking states with payment status.
Locker behaviour had to follow the booking across several locations.
Operators needed the tools to run the service.
A locker booking joins a digital reservation with a physical service. ACW modelled the booking states, customer actions and administration around that handoff, supporting a multilingual journey across locations and keeping the reservation connected to its access status. The result: a booking workflow designed around the physical locker journey.
Choose the location and make a booking.
Move the reservation through its payment state.
Continue to the appropriate access and administration state.
Payment and access cannot be treated as unrelated steps. The integration work connects Redsys payment handling with the locker API and the platform’s reservation records, giving the application a defined path from a paid booking to the physical service.
Handle the payment through Redsys.
Associate the payment result with the reservation.
Continue the supported locker-access request through the API.
A connected path between payment, reservation and locker access.
The service needs clear behaviour when a booking, payment or access step does not follow the expected path. ACW’s QA and administration work covers the state transitions, roles and operational records used to understand and manage the booking journey. The result: operational visibility around the delivered reservation workflow.
The share of started bookings completed with payment increased by 15 percentage points.
1,000 started bookings in each of two four-week periods in a comparable season.
498 of 500 observed opening operations succeeded after payment.
